Grahamston United Church was formed in 1972 following a union of two Church of Scotland Congregations, a URC (formerly Congregational) Congregation and a Methodist Congregation. We are one of the first interdenominational Churches in Scotland. Our congregation was further enhanced when St James Parish Church was assimilated into the United Church in 2018 following the closure of their building. As a congregation we are proud of our ecumenical background and -whilst anxious to uphold the essence of those three traditions – after almost 50 years of worshipping together, we now look upon ourselves as one united church, where denomination is significant but no longer all consuming. As a church we remain committed to the sharing of the gospel with the whole world through worship, fellowship and mission of the church.
We exist to:
- Celebrate God’s presence in worship
- Educate God’s people in discipleship
- Demonstrate God’s love in service to all
- Communicate God’s story through Jesus Christ
